Well how about it? This is a writing community, right? And writing goes in stories, which are featured in books, and online. So what're you reading?

I am currently reading Men of Iron by Howard Pyle. It's set in the dark ages, of course, so I like it.
If any of you like stories about pirates I recommend Captain Blood by Rafael Sabitini. It's old, but great. Lots of violence, romance, danger. It's probably one of my favourite books I've read recently, and I've had no one to bother about it. So read it. It's great.

I just finished The Call by Peadar Ó Guilín. It's a YA novel that was shockingly brutal considering its genre and the ages it was meant to be written for. Managed to stray away from most of the horrible tropes that YA novels have. Based very heavily on Irish lore and I was very pleased with it.
This last week I also finished Raven's Peak by Lincoln Cole and Shifted Agony by D.K. Holmberg. They were free on kindle and very short reads.
Started Wolves of the Northern Rift by Jon Messenger. It's another one of those books that were free on kindle. I get a lot of them because my friends and I have a channel on youtube where we critique book blurbs and covers that we get through bookbub.com. Sometimes you get real gems, most of it is trash.
I read a lot of horror books more than anything else... and books that I pick up at library sales for pennies. I can recommend good horror books if anyone wants to read something spooky.

Daniel Steel, The English Spy. Picked it up in an airport. It's alright. 2 stars.
