General Rules
1. Respect. Lets all show each other some common respect and courtesy. If there is a disagreement, lets work it out as adults.
2. Everything in its place. The section OOC forums are for discussion relating to the roleplays in those sections. The Lounge is for general chattting. So on and so forth.
3. No explicit images or videos. Language is fine, but no pornography.
Roleplaying Rules
1. All RP's are considered first and foremost under the control of the thread starter, who shall act as the GM for that particular thread. They determine the setting, how the world works and fits together, how structured or freeformed the plot is, and, in the D&D section, which mechanics the thread follows and how closely it follows them, as well as what level characters are acceptable. Clear abuse of this will, most likely, result in people abandoning the thread and allowing it to die, but may also result in a thread being closed by the staff.
2. As covered in General Rule #2 above, everything in it's place. Threads in the open forums are open to anyone who wishes to join them- within reason. Potential applicants must still comply with any guidelines set down by the GM regarding level, race, and class, but are otherwise free to join. Any player who joins a thread simply to be disruptive will be removed by the staff at the GM's request.
3. Threads in the closed section require explicit approval from the GM to join. GM's may refuse a character for any reason. If at any time a GM running an open thread wishes it to be moved to the closed thread, request an admin or moderator to move it and it will be done at the earliest convenience.
4. Communication. All RPs require their own, individual OOC thread, and that thread should be used. Communication is key, whether through the OOC thread, chat room, private message, email, or IM.
5. Attendance. Real life happens, we understand that there are things more important than posting in threads on the internet. No one is going to hold that against you if something comes up. However, keep us in the loop about it. If you are going to be unable to post for a period of time, post a notice here in the Bulletin Board and post a notice in the ooc forum for any RPs you may be involved in at the time. If it is a sudden thing, go to a friends house, go to the library, go to an internet cafe and let us know you're dropping out. Failure to do so will result in your character being written out of the rp by whatever means is most convenient at the time.
6. No lore rape. While obviously this doesn't apply to original settings in the general rp forum, if you're playing in the warcraft setting, you play by the warcraft rules. If you play in the D&D setting, you play by those rules. Think out side of the box and be creative, but do not destroy the setting in doing so.
7. Original Characters only. Leave the canon alone, don't touch those characters. NPCing them occasionally may be necessary, but playing them on a constant basis is a no-no.
- 7a. In D&D settings, GM's may use canon NPC's at their discretion. Unlike other settings, that is what they're there for. Players may not play canon characters(period), nor be involved with them without the GM's permission.
8. No godmoding, no powergaming, no metagaming.
9. In character fights: To be determined by the GM. In the D&D section, if the GM decides that fights should be carried out via actually rolling out combat, that is how it will be. If a GM feels that a fight should end one way or another to better further the story, so be it. Ideally, fights should be preplanned results of character communication. They should be carried out to have fun.
10. No anatomically explicit sex scenes.
11. No gratuitous editing of posts. Correction of spelling errors is fine, adding more if you accidentally post without it being complete - either because the forum ate it or because you are for some reason writing the post on here instead of copy/pasting from a doc - is fine. But going back to add in more just because you feel like it, intentionally making an incomplete post just to stick a flag in to get your place in, that isn't cool, and it isn't allowed. Your posts needs to be complete & final in it's content and intention.
Grey's Law: You can do whatever you want, but there will be realistic consequences, up to and including your character's violent death.
