Legacy of Kain is always going to be up there for one of if not my favorite franchise in gaming history. A true under-appreciated gem of video game story telling.
Right now I've been replaying Skyrim having recently got the remastered edition. Elder Scrolls is another one of those series that' sup there for me - indeed I'd say it's my favorite RPG franchise in video games. The open world and character customization options really bring it to another level for me.

I have a problem.
Let's start by saying fuck you guys and everything you like.
Now that the curmudgeon is out of the way...
The Longest Journey/Dreamfall. Ragnar Tørnquist doesn't know how much I love him and his games. But he will know. Probably not. I'm too lazy to be that obsessive.
Real talk, tho? I been playin' Stardew Valley. But like I said, I have a problem. Most of those problems are I start games and don't finish them... and I have a lot of games. I think the list of games I still have to finish is this: Beyond Eyes, Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands (first one. I have all of them but I like to do things in order), Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, KHOLAT, King's Quest (have to finish chapter 4 and 5 and then the epilogue), Layer's of Fear, Saints Row IV, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, SOMA, Deponia and Toren.
A lot of these I pick up, play for a bit, put them down and keep carrying on.
Also been playing Skyforge off and on.

World of Warcraft. Fuck your opinions.
Other than that, I played Spacehulk DeathWing recently, which was beautiful and fun, but glitchy and completely lacked a decent ending and a sense of significance in the universe.
Legacy of Kain, you have to admit after looking back was very poor on graphics and controls, had a bad camera, and the story was excessively confusing and absolutely incomplete. A player was obligated to seek outside sources to figure out WTF was going on. The series deserves a total remake and some smoothing with a belt sander.
Undertale was a 2D games that blew all expectations out of the effing water.
Skyrim, the non-mmo version, was really great with the customization and pick-your-own-adventure style of play. Personally, I liked the vampire expansion, except where you had to kill Harkon. I liked that guy and was pissed there was no option to join him.
I still own Witcher 3 and have not played it.

This thread reminded me I still have games to claim.

I'm an avid fan of the Warhammer 40k novels. I've read well over fifty of them, and have listened to possibly just as many audiodramas and novels. Dan Abnett is one of the greatest writers I've encountered. That said, I've never found the games to be that good. I did play Space Marine on Xbox 360 and it was all right, but not amazing. Space Hulk looks cool, but the Blood Angels are pissweak so I doubt I'll get around to it.
I recently had a holiday from work, so I had plenty of time to play. I also was bought many games for my birthday.
I definitely replayed Skyrim, but I got bored of it just as fast as I usually do. I can't be bothered with mods.
I finished Dishonoured 1 about three days ago and have started Dishonoured 2 which I am glad to say is a tremendous improvement.
I beat Lords of the Fallen, which is kind of like a Dark Souls rip off. Still fun though.
I tried Sniper Elite 3 but it's so boring and I gave up.
I tried State of Decay but I got eaten by a zombie and the game trolled me by giving me a message saying, "You and all your friends are dead!" before making me continue as a different person.
I played Dying Light and that was all right. Terrible story, but fun to play.
Seven Days to Die is a bastard son of a whore. IT's probably one of the hardest games I've played in terms of just trying to survive the experience.
Mirrors Edge: Catalyst is another game I finished just before Lords of the Fallen and I enjoyed it as much as the first one. Again the story is pretty rubbish but running around as a nice looking Asian girl is always fun. Oh and the freerunning.
Also Minecraft is still fun and just as addictive.
That was my three-and-a-half-week holiday.

My favourite game is Shadows of the Colossus. Probably always will be, too.

State of Decay is a pain in the ass like that. It also keeps running when you aren't actively playing it.
I did a quick replay of Skyrim and once again got bored with it before I made it to the DLCs, I'm hoping that I'll spike some interest in it again so I can actually get through the DLCs. This happens to me with Bethesda games regardless of the genre. I just let them sit for a very long time until I find myself saying "I feel like playing Skyrim/Fallout" and then I do.
I'm about to start playing Husk here in a little bit because I'm fairly certain it is physically impossible for me to play just one game at a time.

Don't know if you know, but there is apparently a remastered version of Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver in the works

Heard those rumors. Always take 'em with a grain of salt because Crystal Dynamics always loves to fuck with my emotions.
Anyway, I'm debating on what game I want to pick up next month. It's down to WWE 2k18 and Middle Earth: Shadow of War.
I was a big fan of Shadow of Mordor. Was a fun if small sandbox with fun combat and the unique hook of the Nemesis System and from what I understand Shadow of War perfects that. I also kind of look at the series as a spiritual successor to Legacy of Kain given that it's essentially built on all the ideas that were going into Dead Sun before it's cancellation. But it's got that lootbox, microtransaction taint to it that I'll tolerate in the tacked on multiplayer to a primarily single player game but take issue with in a purely single player game as that leads to a dark road.
WWE 2k18 is something I may be able to get some more mileage out of; creating my own wrestler - and I've got a lot of new ideas for CAWs. And they've got a feature that ports in the created wrestlers from your friends and I've gotta show up some of the boys. But while it'll perhaps be the longer lasting experience I feel it may also be the more shallow one.

I get me some Humble Monthly every month.
I have so many things...
I just recently beat Doki Doki Literature Club. Sorta. I got technically the bad endings a couple times. Rofl. I plan on going back to it to do it the "right" way. Just not right now.
I've been playing Submerged off and on. It's a nice, gentle time killer.
Last week or maybe it was two weeks ago I beat Orwell. That is a heck of a game. Isn't nearly as spoopy as DDLC, but it has its implications.
What I should do it play Layers of Fear again. GET ME IN THE SPOOPY MOOD. HECK.

So I ended up getting WWE 2k18.
The community creations for this game are fucking hilarious.

My Humble Monthly this month was solid af.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Quake Champions Eary Access (plus some stuff for it no clue what it is but y'know) Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Dead Rising 2 Silence Emily Is Away Too World to the West
The early access for Nov's month is meh, but that's because it really isn't my flavor of game.

Isn't Resident Evil 5 the worst Resident Evil? Or am I misremembering that?

Not $12 each. Just $12.
